Thayer, July 12 - John McCall, sr., died at his home here today.
Mr. McCall was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, April 18, 1852. He came to this country in 1880, settling at Braidwood, Ill. He came to Thayer in 1900. His wife, the former Isabella Johnson whom he married in 1887, died in 1909.
Mr. McCall is survived by the following children; John and George, Galesburg; Archie, Kincaid; Mrs. Robert Wandless, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Sam Mottershaw, Mrs. Kate Radford, Robert and William McCall, Thayer. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Thayer Methodist Episcopal church. Interment will be in Auburn cemetery. The remains will be removed from the B. E. Bulpitt funeral home in Virden to the residence in Thayer, Monday.
