Abraham Musselman

For many years a farmer in Sinking Valley and later a highly respected resident of this community, died suddenly on Saturday, in the home of his son Samuel Musselman, of 823 Third avenue, Juniata. Just after the noon hour the aged gentleman was assisting his grandson to remove a pile of ashes from the cellar, when he suddenly fell to the floor, unconcious. The boy cried out for assistance and within a few minutes the stricken man was carried to the upper ____ and medical aid summoned. Butg death ahd been almost instand and only a gasp or two indicated the passing out of the last breath of a long and active life. Mr. Musselman had seemed in his usual health in the morning and ate a hearty dinner. His death is ascribed to heart failure Cornoner Blackburn was satisfied and viwed the remains. He said at ____ that an inquest was unceccsarry. Abraham Mussleman was born in Sinking Valley November 26, 1835 being past 70(?) year in age. he grew to manhood in the valley and there followed the vocation of farming until about fifteen years since, when he removed to this section. He farmed for several years nea Ashbury church, but for three years or more has been retired from active employment, making his home with his son in whose hoiuse he died. On May 12, ____, the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Ann Elizabeth Ray the wife preceding herhusband to the other world two years ago. There were in all eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Musselman, of who four survive- Samuel Musselman of Juniata, Mrs. Sanford Cherry and Mrs. James Baker of Altoona, and Mrs. Lester Burkholder of Petersburg. There are also living twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Musselman was of Lutheran faith and the funeral service tomorrow at 2 pm will be conducted by the Rev. H.E. Wieand(?) pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.
