Ophelia M. Cofer-Wallington died at the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA. She joined the Parrish Hill Baptist Church, Charles City, VA at an early age and later moved to Newport News, VA where she joined the First Baptist Church East End. During her years there she remained a loyal dedicated member. She was a member of the 55 year Members Club, First Baptist Service Board, 2nd Senior Choir, First Baptist League of Women and Bible Study. She also was active as a member of the Orcutt Senior Citizen Club and the Ruth , Unity and Midlothian # 3 Order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM , Monday, March 23,2009 at the First Baptist Church East End, 3000 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA. Interment in the Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, VA.
