Abigail was the fourth of eleven children born to James Lane and Abigail Leadbetter of Leeds. She married in Leeds to Stephen Rackley of Greene on October 6, 1822.
Abigail and Stephen lived in Leeds. Their three children all died at young ages. Later they adopted Abigail's late sister's daughter, Mary Hale. Mary died at age 18, and is buried with the three Rackley children.
