Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 23, at 2:00 from the Christ Memorial Methodist church, with the Rev. Stanley A. Ganzel officiating. Burial was made in the Bloomfield [Nebraska] cemetery with Prescott Funeral home directing. Pallbearers were John Hetzel, Ray Sumner, Otto Naber, Charles F. Knudson, J.R. Clements and Leon D. Thompson. Vocal music for the services was by Mrs. Betty Murray and Mrs. Marjorie Peterson. Organ accompaniment was by Mrs. Wayne Carpenter.
Luticia Rush Ferguson was born on February 9, 1871, at Bloomfield, Iowa, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rush. On March 10, 1889, she was united in marriage to Thomas Jefferson Ferguson at Maineland, Nebr., where they resided for two years. Following that they lived at Lincoln, then to Kingfisher, Okla., Cainewills, Mo., and then back to Nebraska. Bloomfield had been her home the past fifty years.
Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Christ Memorial Methodist church and a charter member of the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her seven children; Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Bloomfield, James Ferguson, Winside, Ossie Ferguson, Coleridge, William Ferguson of Lincoln, Cephas Ferguson of Crete, Francis Ferguson, Lincoln, and Elmer Ferguson of Palo Alto, Calif. There also survive 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, besides a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died on June 23, 1952, and by her four brothers.
Of late years, Mrs. Ferguson had been ailing and entered a nursing home at Niobrara. She was hospitalized at Lundberg Memorial hospital at Creighton on November 14, and there she passed away on November 20, 1959, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 11 days.
