Our beloved father and grandfather, Einar Engelberth Anderson, passed away on June 9, 2009. He resided at 1480 East Winder Lane (4130 South) in East Millcreek, Utah at the time of his death.

He was born December 25, 1923 in Higmarse, Stockholm, Sweden, son of Johan Oskar and Albertina Andersson.

He married Ulla-Britt Viktoria Anderson on May 9, 1943. They immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah with their three children in November 1948. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on January 13, 1949.

He was first employed after arriving in the U.S.A. by Chicago Bridge and Iron Company. He was later employed and retired from the L.D.S. Church Financial Department. Einar was the father of eight children, four sons, and four daughters.

He is survived by his sons: Kjell (Sybil) Gilbert, AZ; Leif (Analee) Carson City, NV; Glen (Christine) Bellingham, WA; Wayne (Terra) Des Moines, IW; three daughters: Dianne Allen (Jon), Salt Lake City; Elaine Thompson (Guy) Salt Lake City; Irene Johnson (Kim) Salt Lake City. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.

Einar served in the Swedish Royal Air Force during World War II. He was very active in B.S.A., the recipient of the Woodbadge and Silver Beaver Awards and attended the Philmont Leadership Training in New Mexico.

Einar loved the outdoors; an avid hunter and fisherman. Einar was very active in his political convictions, loved his country, and always honored the American flag.

He was active in the L.D.S. Church, serving as Branch President in Stockholm, Sweden, Elders Quorum Presidencies, Bishoprics and High Councils. He loved record keeping, historical, and personal journals.

He served on missions and church assignments with his wife which included the Lagos, Nigeria Mission from 1987 - 1989, Temple Presidency in the Stockholm Temple Mission from 1991 - 1993, and the Church Translation Department from 1994 - 1996. He especially loved being a Temple Sealer.

Einar was preceded in death by his wife Ulla; parents, five brothers: Georg, Sven, Bertil, Ragnar, Gunnar, and five sisters: Astrid, Gertrud, Greta, Mariana, Ester, and, his daughter Marianne, grandson Michael, granddaughter Marie Amie.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Winder Stake Center, 4366 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City. There will be a viewing held at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), on Sunday, June 14, 2009 between 5 and 7 p.m. and prior to the Funeral Services on Monday at 9:45 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
