It is believed that Albert W. Weinberger was born at Prairie Township, Shelby Co., Illinois. His parents were living there when the 1870 U.S. Federal Census was taken.

Albert Weinberger Passes Away; Services at Tours

Albert Weinberger, for 58 years a resident of the Tours Community, passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco Tuesday evening following a short illness.

Funeral services for the 77 year-old retired farmer will be conducted by the Reverend J. T. Geiser at St. Martin's Church in Tours this morning, Friday, at 9 o'clock. Rosary services were held last night.

Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery.

Mr. Weinberger was born in Illinois on May 19, 1875. He came to Texas with his parents when he was 9 years old, covering the hundreds of miles in a wagon drawn by oxen.

His father was a blacksmith following construction of the Katy railroad in those early days.

The Weinberger family settled at Peoria for a short while then moved to Tours.

Deceased was a member of the Tours KJT Lodge and the St. Martin's Society. His wife preceded him in death in 1939. They were the parents of eight sons, one now deceased.

Survivors are the remaining seven sons, John and A. J. of West, Willie and Frankie of Dallas, Albert, Julius, and Alphonse, all of Tours; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Leo Miller, Raymond Weinberger, Herbert Weinberger, John Wolf, and Joe Filer.
