Louisa was the youngest child of William and Margareth Bleckle Gambler (Kemler) of Berks County, Pennsylvania. She married first about 1870 to Henry Muench. They had three sons: George W., Oscar E., and Charles H. After Henry Muench's death, Louisa married William Philpott, and they had one son, Cosmo, born 5 August 1894.
