Rosario "Russell" "Fuzzy" Fiordimondo Jr., 78, of Vineland, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 21, 2009, at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center in Vineland.
Born in Hardingville on his parents' farm, he grew up there and joined the U.S. Air Force. He had lived in Vineland for the past 47 years. For 24 years, Mr. Fiordimondo worked as a machine operator for Owens Illinois. Then he worked in law enforcement for the Vineland Police Department for 17 years. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Millville. He was an active member of the Masonic Temple Shekinah, F & A Masons Nos. 58 & 82 of Millville, and the Fraternal Order of Police in Vineland. He was also a member of the GBBA, and enjoyed working outdoors.
Mr. Fiordimondo is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Osborne); his son, Rosario Fiordimondo III and wife Teresa of Vineland; his daughter, Sharon Servais and husband Joseph of Vineland; his sister, Rose LoSchiavo and husband Celestino of Maryland; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Pizzo of Centerton and Eugene Osborne of Delaware; one sister-in-law, Roselie Osborne of Florida; five grandchildren, Rosario IV, Samson, Marco, Dominique and Corissa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Joe, Sam, Phil, John, Andrew, Tony, Angelina and Joseph.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with a Masonic service starting at 7 p.m., and a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville.
