He was a native of Toones, Tenn., and a retired construction worker.
Survivors: his wife, Geraldine Fuller-Chism; a daughter, Carolyn Duerson; sons Frederick and Anthony Chism; sisters LeVertha Neely, Laura B. Johnson, Imogene Chism, Elizabeth Williamson, Nezzie Ellison and Mary Studdard; brothers Jimmie Lee, Alvin and the Rev. L.C. Chism; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Twelfth Street Primitive Baptist Church, 2101 W. Main St. Burial: Cave Hill. Visitation at A.D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St., 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
