Died Sunday, May 18, 1969 in St. Luke's Hospital in Tryon NC at 1:55 a.m. after a long illness. Survivors included: a daughter, Mrs. Abe Collins, a son, Jerry Belcher, two sister, Mrs. Fanny Clayton and Mrs. Lillie Stone, three brothers, Wallace, George and Cliff Belcher, three grandchildren. He was 66 years of age at his demise.
Mr. Belcher was the owner and operator of Clarence Belcher Pottery, located in Little Chicago, Spartanburg County, SC, during the 1930s and 1940s, which produced many wonderful pieces of pottery, that will be treasured for generations to come.
