Anton Zwack Obituary
Conduct Rites Wednesday for Anton Zwack, 89

Anton Zwack, who in January would have observed his 90th birthday anniversary, died late Sunday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at the home of his son Dan, with whom he made his home for the last seven years.
The Anton Zwacks observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28 of this year.
A recent fall resulting in the fracture of a hip and later complications caused his death.
Born in Silesia, Poland on Jan. 14, 1852, Mr. Zwack migrated to the United States at the age of 19 and settled in Stearns County near Holdingford, where he lived until 1910 when he moved to a farm about 3 miles east of Royalton.
His marriage to Julia Radziej took place at North Prairie in 1873. She survives him. The elderly pair made their home with the Dan Zwack family after their retirement as farm folks.
Other survivors are the six children: Joe, Seattle, Wash.; Louis, San Francisco, Calif.; Frank, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Mike Czech (Elizabeth), Mayhew Lake; Stanley and Dan, Royalton; also 53 grand-children and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at Holy Trinity Church with burial in the local Catholic cemetery. The Rev. P. A. Kuick officiated.
Those from a distance for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Czech, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lass, and Mrs. Herman Lang, Mayhew Lake; Mrs. George Zormeier, Sauk rapids; Mr. and Mrs. San Czech, Morrill; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Otremba, Buckman; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kuklock, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zwack, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bienek, Mr. and Mrs. John Krystosek, and Ignatz Wentland and John Trutwin, Holdingford; Mr. and Mrs. John Czech, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Czech, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaiser, Sobieski; and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Woznak, Bowlus.

Louis, a son of Anton and Julia, wrote a short biography, dated June 1962, that Anton, while still living in Poland, was a teacher and he could speak seven languages. After he came to this country he became a farmer and a carpenter. One of his early commissions was to build a rectory for the priest in Opole, long before the turn of the century. As of this June 1962 writing, the parish house still stood as a monument to Anton's undying devotion as his skill as a carpenter.

I, CMelton, have a copy of this writing in my possession.
