Head injuries received Saturday afternoon after being thrown from a horse near his home proved fatal to Eugene Mitchell, 16-year-old Fame boy, Wednesday morning in a Muskogee hospital.
Funeral rites for Mitchell will be held Friday afternoon at the Fame Baptist Church with the Rev. Haskell Hammer, retired Baptist minister of Eufaula, officiating. Burial will be in the Fame cemetery under the direction of the Powers Funeral home.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Mitchell; two brothers, Frank of the home and Joseph, Jr., Braggs; and four sisters, Mamie of the home, Anna and Sylvia, Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Sue Gardner, Poteau.
Pallbearers will include Virgil Blevins, Lester Overman, Ettrelm Perry, Claude Peebles, Oscar Peebles and Orvill Blevins.
