Clement Skolfield (Thomas-1) was born 1 June 1740 in Brunswick, Maine; married, first, Mary Adams, daughter of John Adams and Mary Adams, who were first cousins, on 25 June 1767 in Harpswell, Maine. Clement married, second, Alice Means, daughter of Thomas Means and Alice Finney,
6 November 1773 in North Yarmouth, Maine. He died 22 May 1796, and was buried in Harpswell Cemetery, Harpswell, Maine. In 1757 Clement and his brother Richard settled on land in Brunswick and Harpsweli, and also in
that year he served in Capt. John Getchell's Company in faithful service against the Indians.
He was a well-to-do farmer at Harpswell for a large portion of his life, and was highly respected for
his executive ability and sterling character, and was called a noble patriot and citizen.
Mary Adams was born 1 June 1742; died 24 August 1772.
The children of Clement2 Skolfield and Mary Adams were:

i. Mary-3 Skolfield, The only knowledge of her is a document dated 8 November 1774
wherein the Judge of the Cumberland County Probate Court appointed Clement Skolfield to be guardian "unto your Daughter Mary Skolfield a Minor under fourteen years of age"

ii. Rebecca Skolfield was born Oct. 16,1768 married Mathew Martin
