ROXBORO — Charles Thomas Tatum Sr., 85, of 1442 Mill Hill Rd., Roxboro, died Saturday, March 23, 2013.

Born in Person County, Mr Tatum was the son of the late Joseph Scott and Lottie Alma Long Tatum and husband of the late Jennie Lee Tatum. Mr Tatum retired from Public Service Gas Company in 1993 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Mr Tatum was an US Army Veteran.

Charles was also preceded in death by his sister, Louise Brewer; and two brothers, Joe Scott Tatum Jr and Clyde Osborne Tatum.

Mr Tatum is survived by his children, Thomas Tatum and wife, Debbie, Pam T Wagstaff and husband, Willson, Gail T Clayton and husband, David and Randy Tatum and partner, Phil Thomas; seven grandchildren, Bobby Walker and wife, Tonya, Brent Walker and wife, Tammy, Jennifer W. Lunsford and husband, Rodney, Adam Clayton, Joshua Clayton, Will Wagstaff and Nicole Clayton; four great-grandchildren, Justin Walker, Grant Lunsford, LeAnn Walker and Brock Walker; four sisters, Ellen Montague, Estelle Cox, Doris Davis and Carol Dean Trickey and husband, A.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, March 25, 2013, at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Gerald Thomas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm, today, at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Adam Clayton, Joshua Clayton, Will Wagstaff, Rodney Lunsford, Bobby Walker, and Ray Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Warren, Roger White, Fred Cox Jr., and Brian Lunsford.
