First Lieutenant in the

17th Infantry. U.S. Army.

Born at Boston, Oct. 22, 1841.

Died at Gettysburg, July 8, 1863.

----

He fell, shot through the breast while
leading his men in the charge near Lit
tle Round Top on the afternoon of the
second day of July, and died of the
wound in the Field Hospital of the
Fifth Army Corps.
