Henry Stiner was an early settler in the Leadmine Bend area of Sharps Chapel (then part of Claiborne County) He was the son of Peter Stiner (originally Stoner)and Eva Cotner. It is said he came to claim around 1000 acres of land here between 1820 and 1826.Henry and Sarah Graves Stiner had 3 known children. Eliakim "Ake" and Eli were both born in North Caroline, their youngest son Peter was born on their farm along the Powell River.
