If that is so, his mother was Mary Holmes, the second wife of Thomas' father. They were married in Marshfield on January 24, 1664, after the death of Thomas' first wife on December 12, 1663. Thomas and Mary had several children, apparently at Marshfield, but no birth records are to be found for them.
Thomas the son was married in Marshfield on December 20, 1692, to Hannah Mendall. Five births are found in the records of Marshfield as children of Thomas and Hannah Tilden, between 1694 and 1706. The will of Thomas Tilden of Marshfield was made March 25, 1718, and proved the following April 25. In the will, he mentions daughter Susanna and Robert Decrow, her husband; his two sons Thomas and John, his daughter Jerusha; Hannah, his wife, and his two eldest daughters, Hannah Torrey and Susannah Decrow. Executor: son-in-law Nathaniel Torrey. (Plymouth County Probate, No. 20761.) The burial of Thomas is unknown, but most likely in Marshfield.
