Page 190--"The first burial in the graveyard adjacent to the church, occurred in 1849, as marked by the headstone of William Rogers' grave."
Patience Igou was the wife of William Rogers, Jr. She was born 4 Jun 1791 in Pikeville, Bledsoe, Co. TN. She died 24 Aug 1859 in Dunlap, Sequatchie County, Tennessee.
Their original graves were marked by long sandstone slabs whose writing was erased in time except for the 1849 death date as see by Peacock herself many years later. The Memorial for Patience is #128064185
