Former Rochester man dies in 1-car crash
11/30/1992
A former Rochester man died in a one-car accident in Eau Claire County, Wis., early Saturday morning.
Dead is Mark Anthony Kuhfuss, 35, of Eau Claire, Wis.
A spokesman for the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department said Kuhfuss was westbound on a county trunk highway near Eau Claire when he entered a 35-mph zone and failed to negotiate a left turn.
The car went into the ditch, rolled over and ended up in a tavern parking lot. Kuhfuss was thrown from the vehicle.
He died at the scene, the sheriff's department reported.
The accident was reported at 1:13 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Kuhfuss, 35, of Eau Claire, Wis., and formerly of Rochester, died Saturday (Nov. 28, 1992) of injuries suffered in an auto accident in the Eau Claire area. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

The funeral for Mark Anthony Kuhfuss will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ranfranz Funeral Home Chapel in Rochester. The Rev. Greg Pechacek of Capital City Church in Madison, Wis., will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kuhfuss, 35, of Menomonie, Wis., and a Rochester native, died early Saturday morning (Nov. 28, 1992) at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis., of injuries suffered in a car accident near Eau Claire.
Born June 7, 1957, in Rochester, he grew up here. He lived in Wabasha before moving to Menomonie about two years ago. Mr. Kuhfuss was an Army veteran.
Survivors include two sisters, Pat (Mrs. Ted) Bulaga of Mantorville and Carol (Mrs. James) Stocker of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, the Rev. Kim Kuhfuss of La Crosse, Wis.; and special friend, Claudia McDonald of Menomonie.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
