John was the son of Henry Aldredge & Mariam (or Mary Ann)Self and the brother of William, Elijah and Polly Aldredge. John married Mary Jane Robinson on Jan. 10, 1830 in Posey Co., Ind. He and Mary Jane had seven children: Francis Marion, Katherine, Parish, Elvira, Andrew Jackson, Parthenia and Ovilla Alldredge. After Mary Jane's death, John married Sarah J. Bell on Oct. 14, 1855 and they had two sons: John B. Henry and William Alldredge.
