Florence Christiana Anderson was the daughter of Charles C. and Hidvie Nielson Anderson.

On June 18, 1925, Florence and Newell Charles Anderson were married. Newell was born on June 12, 1901 in Millville, the son of Niels and Matilda Johnson Olson. He attended Millville school and spent his youth learning the value of hard work on his father's farm. As a young man, he hauled many loads of gravel for the roads.

Florence worked in the auxiliary organizations, served a Stake Mission and worked for more than seven years in the Genealogy Library. She sang in the ward choir nearly all of her life. She also was active in PTA and on the town Beautification Committee. In 1960, she wrote a history of the first 100 Years of Millville.

In addition to farming, Newell worked at Anderson Lumber Mill and at Globe Mills. He held many positions of trust in both the town and the Church. He served in the auxiliaries, as Bishop's Counselor and as Ward Clerk. He was Town Clerk for several years and helped to install the water systems. He was a member of the Building Committee when the present church was built in 1948-1951.

Newell and Florence are the parents of six children: Alden (LaRee Friedli), Douglas (ReNae Leishman, Doris Jones), Nola Rae (Newell Pickett), Richard A. (Alice Welker), Marilyn (Clyde Sorensen) and Brent C. (Lee Ann Hansen).
