OCALA -- William U. Bowen , 74, a retired lieutenant commander for the U.S. Navy and retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Co., died April 17, 1994, in Ocala.
A native of South Carolina, Mr. Bowen moved here in 1962 from Hollywood. He was Baptist, a member of the Elks Club, the Retired Officers Association, the VFW, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Annie E. Bowen , Ocala; son, Donald Bowen , Gainesville; daughters, Cheryl Casey, Maine, and Wanda Williams, Savannah, Ga.; brothers, Grady Bowen , Knoxville, Tenn., and Rex A. Bowen , Harrisburg, N.C.; sister, Argyl Leary, Greenwood, S.C.; and five grandchildren.
Bruce Ocala Funeral Home, East Chapel, is handling arrangements.
