This community was saddened on Monday morning when they learned that mother Prochaska had passed away. Frone Svoboda was born at Brno, Czechoslovakia, May 9, 1860 and died at her home in Simpson, October 12, 1936, aged 76 years, 5 months, and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Frantz Pesha in 1883. To this union four children were born, three dying in infancy. After suffering the loss of her husband she came with her son, Fred to new Bedford, MA in 1892, being advised by her physician that she must get her son into a different climate to save his life, she came to Simpson, KS in November 1896. Here November 30, 1896, she was married to Wencel J. Prochaska. To this union two sons, William and Albert were born. Mrs. Prochaska was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church and remains true to her faith until death. She was a true Christian and a living example of her faith in her daily life. The sorrow from the loss of her own loved ones only made her heart more tender to her husband's six motherless children and the love and respect these children have for her proves she was to them a true and devoted mother. Mrs. Prochaska was ever ready to help those in need or speak words of comfort to those in sorrow. We feel we have lost a loving friend and a kind neighbor. She leaves to mourn her death, her faithful companion, three sons, three step-sons, and two step daughters; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, besides a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Simpson, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. J. G. Murphy officiating, and all that was mortal of Mother Prochaska was carried by her six grandsons and laid to rest in the Bohemian National cemetery.
