Frank Sponer, a resident of Ottawa county for over fifty years, died at his home in Ada last Friday morning. He was 80 years old and one of the well known farmers of the western part of the county.

He was born April 2, 1865 in Czecho-Slavakia and came to America a young man in 1888. He first lived in Pittsburgh, PA., where he followed his trade of stone mason, also working in the mills there. In 1890 he was married to Mrs. Josephine Smola Srna and in 1893 they came to Kansas and Ottawa county, settling near the Bohemias Hall. They lived there until 1923 when they moved to Ada and have made their home in Ada since that time.

He is survived by his widow, one step-son, Frank J. Srna, of Barnard and a step-daughter, Mrs. Josephine Boucek, of Glnsco; also by eleven grand-children and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A Rosary service was held at the family home in Ada at 8:00 o'clock Sunday evening and funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Minneapolis, with Father Lonergan in charge. Pall bearers were Joe Ziegler, Jake Ziegler, Henry Kunc, Frank Wolfe. John Prochaska and Will Yager. Interment was made in the Bohemian Hall cemetery.
