William Guy Jennings, age 89, of Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.

He was born in Metcalfe Co., KY on April 16, 1920 to the late Thomas Jennings and Virginia Cole Jennings. He was a WW II Veteran, was retired from Hagan & Stone in Tompkinsville and also a retired farmer. He was married to Geneva Turner Jennings, they were married on June 21, 1947. He was a member of the Summer Shade Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Geneva Turner Jennings of Tompkinsville, two sons and daughters-in law, Jimmie Carol and Margaret Jennings of Glasgow, William Gerald and Joyce Jennings of Tompkinsville, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Pearl Mayfield, Elsie Norris, Goldia Nunn, Irene Crumpton, Vera Mae Vilbert, Elizabeth Plamaph, Mary Glass, four brothers, Owen, Bernice, Andrew and Ray Jennings.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 11 at 2 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
