Funeral services were held last week for Sam Henry Fisher, 80 years old, a pioneer of the Holland community who moved there 43 years ago from Hardin county, Tenn. The services were conducted at the residence by the Rev. W.C. Tharp, pastor of the Holland Baptist Church, and interment was in the Mr. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Fisher had been a member of the Baptist Church for a number of years and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Amanda Fisher, one son, Sam Fisher, Jr., of Cobden, Ill., two daughters, Mrs. Maggie Richards and Mrs. Lillie Norrid, both of Holland, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and five sisters and one brother.
