Mandy Henderson was the daughter of Narcissa Johnson Henderson (Hall) and Samuel Franklin "Frank" Henderson, She was the wife of Samuel "Sam" Henry Fisher, Sr.

She and her siblings were born in Avoca near Mount Hope in Lawrence County, Alabama. While her death certificate and obituary state that she was born in Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama, there is no other evidence to support this. It is possible this was given because it was the closest large city. There is substantial documentation to support her birth at Avoca.
