Woman Dies at Residence Here
Mrs. Sarah Latier, 74, Is Stricken Following Long Illness
Mrs. Sarah Latier, 74, wife of Edward M. Latier, died at her home at 940 South Lawn av. Thursday at 4:20 a.m. from complications of diseases following a three years' illness.
Mrs. Latier was born in Jackson township Nov. 4, 1862, the daughter of James and Mary Courtright Shaw. She lived on the farm in Jackson township until 1904, when she moved to her home here. Mrs. Latier was a lifelong member of the Canal Lewisville M.E. Church.
She was married Oct. 9, 1881, to Edward M. Latier, who, with the following children, survives: Newton Latier of the home, John Latier, South Seventh st., and Edward Latier of Zanesville. Also surviving are two brothers, Wilson Shaw of West Lafayette and Edward Shaw of Coshocton Route 1; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home with Rev. Wesley E. Tilton in charge. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
