Marie Moran
Age 87, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2009, at home where she was cared for by her granddaughter, Theresa Stevenson and her fiancé Michael Butterworth.
She was the wife of the late James J. Moran, Sr. and mother of the late Elizabeth A. Moran. Born in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Firkal. Mrs. Moran was a member of Holy Spirit Church and active in the Sodality. She enjoyed playing organ at Holy Spirit Church as well as at home for her family, bingo, yard sales spending time with her family especially the family dog: Roscoe.
Marie is survived by her children, James J. Moran (Pat), Jerry Moran and Pat Stevenson (Bill); sisters, Theresa Banyo and Helen Guzinski; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11 am, on Tuesday, July 14, at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle DE. The viewing will be from 10-11 am, in the Church prior to the service. Interment will be at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Delaware Humane Assn., 701 A St., Wilm. DE 19801.
