Jay F. Emmett, 85, of Joliet, Montana passed away, Friday, Feb. 9, 1996 after a lengthy illness, at Cedar Wood Villa in Red Lodge, Montana. He was born in Lovell, Wyoming on Feb. 23, 1910 to Moses Mosia and Florence Ophelia Allred Emmett. He was a farmer and rancher most of his adult life. He was also an excellent carpenter and plumber and could fix almost anything.
Jay married Eva Newkirk on Jan. 3, 1948. He was the father of two children, Daniel Emmett of Billings, Montana and Jackie Boyd of Worland, Wyoming. He had 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of Red Lodge; his children; one brother, Forrest "Turk" Emmett of Lovell; one sister, Minnie Schmidt of Gooding, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tues., Feb. 13, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell, Wyoming. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
