Armetta Lewis is a native of Bomarton, but had lived in Seymour for the greater part of her life. She attended school in Seymour and was popular for her kind nature and charm. She was Christine Westerman but known by most people as "Totsie". Her small son was a bright, lovable charter and the idol of his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Haskin. This family have been pioneer citizens of Baylor County and is highly respected. Her mother is the joint owner with Mrs. Earl Wisdom of the Ideal Beauty Shop. The father of the little boy, Sgt. Jimmie Nix of Camp Wolters came immediately on hearing of the death of Mrs. Lewis and his little son.
