Died while in captivity of "gunshot wound to right leg, with amputation" at McClellan USA General Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Originally buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. Removed to Philadelphia National Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA in 1866.
