He was born January 16, 1929 in Bradley County, Arkansas a son of the late Wiley Newman and Lynn Gray Newman. He was a Baptist and a retired log hauler for Potlatch Corp.
Surviving is his wife; two sons; one daughter; one brother; two sisters; and four grandchildren. A brother Lee Newman, 5 sisters Eva Nicholson, Dorothy Hayden, Doris Waites, Betty Travis and Mary Hammons and a grandchild also preceded him in death.
Graveside services were 1:30pm Thursday, December 23, at Parker Prospect Cemetery near Warren by Rev. Jim Bales.
