Samuel Thomas Paschal was the youngest child of Coleman Paschal and Sarah Street. His siblings were Maragaret Paschal Hutchinson, Rachel Paschal Peters, Joseph G. Paschal, Asa Newton Paschal, Harriet Ellen Paschal Skinner, William Henry Paschal, and my great-grandmother Mary Elizabeth Paschal Hobson.

"Tommy" or "Blake" were the names he was known by. He fought for the Union Army as a member of the 47th Illinois Infantry. He was engaged at the siege of Mobile toward the end of the war. His letters home from places like Selma and Demopolis, Alabama can be found in the book "From Beardstown to Andersonville, The Civil War Letters of Asa Newton Paschal and Samuel Thomas Paschal."

Tommy Paschal married Anna Wylder. They had three children: Floyd, Lloyd and Sarah Lois.
