Edgar Fox, 98, of Hillsboro passed away February 8, 2018, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Born February 18, 1919 in Bynum, he was the son of Eddie B. and Grace E. (Allen) Fox. As a young boy, he lived in the Malone and Chatt communities. On March 26, 1938, Edgar was united in marriage to Mary Jacoby and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2003. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Hillsboro. For more than 30 years, he was a propane and butane distributor for Independent Oil Company. Edgar played semi-pro baseball as a young man and was a loyal fan of baseball and the Texas Rangers. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter, Elizabeth Davis.
Survivors include his three children, Barbara White and husband, Richard, of Waco, Sandra Haddock and husband, Herbert, of Longview, and Carolyn Price and husband, Gary, of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Allen McAdams, Johnna Crisp, Donna, Christi, Dustin Kowaski, Randall Kuykendall, Kelley Davis, and Brandon Davis; a number of great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
