She was the 12th of 14 children born to William and Sarah (Smith) Kesler. She married and became a mother of seven children whom she loved and nurtured until her untimely death at age 48. She had a malignant brain tumor which doctors could not remove in 1951. She was sent home and, within a few weeks, went into a coma and died. She was the rock of our family and when she died, we unequivocally felt her loss.

She was the PTA President of Ardmore Elementary school and President of the Women's Group at Calvary Baptist Church in South Bend for many years! She was very organized and wished to be an Interior Decorator, but her life and duties remained with her family. Her exceptional role as wife and loving mother shaped a new generation of love and faith.
