Spencer "Spence" Longworth, 68, died early Thursday May 12, 2005 at his home in Savannah, GA. Spence was born in Richmond, Indiana to the late Hazel Longworth Ratliff. He was a graduate of Richmond High School class of 1956. After High School, Spence served his country in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Sgt. First Class E-7. He served in many countries while in Vietnam in 1968, where he was wounded. During the war he received numerous decorations: Bronze Star, Air Medal, Purple Heart and several others. Spence moved to Savannah in 1979. He worked as a stevedore superintendent for various shipping companies until retirement. Spence was known as a caring and generous person, and also remembered as a great dancer. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Earl and Henry Longworth.

Visitation: 6-8pm Saturday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Graveside Services: 1pm Sunday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, with Brother Toby Skrine officiating. Pallbearers will be Spencer Bugna, Victor Sarkissian, George Bugna, Dick Lebedin, and James Parker.
