A resident of Dayton for the past 46 years, she was a member of Dayton United Methodist Church.
She was born in Jefferson County on Nov. 4, 1903, a daughter of the late Clover and Levina (Schaffner) Baughman.
On Oct. 20, 1925, she married Wade H. Byerly, who died Nov. 6, 1966.
Surviving are two sons, James H. of Erie and Clair D. of Dayton; three daughters: Mrs. Curtt (Dorothy) Hoover of Harborcreek RD 1, Mrs. Lewis (Betty) Brumbaugh of Dayton and Miss Kay Byerly, at home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Velma Anthony of Sligo; three sisters: Mrs. Margaret Keihl of Stanton, Mrs. James (Mildred) McAfee of Clairton and Mrs. Lorin (Ruth) Brown of Bradford; two brothers, Leonard Baughman of Rochester, N.Y., and Jay Baughman of Brookville; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A brother, Pete Baughman, is deceased.
Friends of Mrs. Marie Kathryn Byerly, who died April 4, 1977, may call at the Frank O. Bly Funeral Home, Dayton, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be conducted there at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Fred A. Preuss of Dayton United Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. James L. Snyder of Dayton Church of God.
