Ruth Giles Diamond

Our dear, sweet, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, Ruth Giles Diamond, of Springville, Utah, passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-four on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center with her daughter at her side, due to incidence of age.

Ruth was born June 4, 1922 to Bertha P. and Albert Giles in Springville. UT.

Ruth's mother passed away following child birth when Ruth was 6.

Her father remarried and she and her younger brother Bill gained eight siblings.

At sixteen she married James Leslie Diamond of Springville and they had three children: James, Carolyn, and Larry.

She was a wonderful mother and example to her children with her courage and determination.

Ruth worked at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a unit manager for thirty years, retiring in 1986.

She was very knowledgeable and efficient at her job and enjoyed working with both staff and patients.

She also loved gardening, reading, baking and spending time with her family.

She also enjoyed being outside in her yard or up in the mountains.

The last few years, Ruth had many health problems.

Her family came together and cared for her so she could stay in her favorite place which was home.

Her loving daughter Carolyn worked tirelessly to give her companionship and care.

Ruth was loved by all who knew her and will be missed very much.

We are happy she can now be with her mother who she missed and never really knew on earth.

She is survived by her husband Jim of sixty-eight years, three children, James (Florence) Diamond of West Jordan, Utah, Carolyn D. Shepherd of Springville, and Larry (Mary) Diamond of Springville; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four brothers.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers and three sisters, and three grandchildren Michael Shepherd, David Diamond, and Leslie Diamond Morgan.

The family would like to thank A-Plus Homecare and Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Ruth, especially her nurse Bonnie, and aides Kori and Krissy (her granddaughter).

We would also like to thank Amy, Karen, and Jen for their loving care.
