Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church by Dr. H. H. McBride pastor. He was assisted by Rev. H. B. Hysell, pastor of the Methodist Church and the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Sheriff Bryant Sholars, Judge Cas Moss, Dr. C. M. Heflin, J. W. Fowler, Hugh Mercer, Walter Allen, Miley Walsworth, and Rudolph Bernstein.
Mrs. Wright was born in Smith County, Miss., on March 3, 1858, and was brought to Winnfield by her parents at one year of age. She spent the remainder of her life here. Her husband, who died in 1900, was a Winn Parish merchant and livestock dealer.
Surviving are three sons, Dr. Roy W. Wright of New Orleans, W. H. Wright of Baton Rouge, and James D. Wright of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. E. B. Harrell of DeQuincy, Mrs. D. W. Harrell of New Orleans, and Mrs. Florence Dalton of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Wright of Winnfield and Mrs. Julia Wright of Alexandria; two granddaughters, Mrs. C. W. Henchley and Mrs. Oscar Carlson, both of DeQuincy; two grandsons, William Heard Wright of Baton Rouge and Cleburn Dalton of Winnfield and a great grandson, James Henchey of DeQuincy.
