A message was received Monday announcing the death of Mrs. David Mahoney at St. Bernard's hospital in Council Bluffs, at 5 o'clock a. m., on that day. The remains were brought to Corning yesterday on number four and a short funeral service was held at the St. Patrick's Catholic church, after which interment was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery, south of Corning.
Mrs. Anastasia Mahoney was born in county Claire, Ireland, and when a young lady came to America. She was married to David Mahoney, and to them were born four children, three of whom died in early childhood, and the fourth, Miss Mary, died in Corning about two years ago. Mr. Mahoney preceded his wife in death some years ago. The family lived in Brooks in the early sixties, and located in Corning in 1870, or about that time. Mrs. Mahoney was taken sick about three weeks before Thanksgiving, when she suffered a stroke of paralysis, and about five weeks ago was taken to St. Bernard's hospital in Council Bluffs, that she might receive good care, as she had no relatives here. She has relatives in Denver and in Worcester, Mass.
