Nathan Barrow was born on July 5, 1804, in Wayne County, Kentucky, and was the son of Daniel E. Barrow and Hannah Stone Barrow. He married Delia ________, then married Welthy Gilstrap on March 27, 1828, in Wayne County, Kentucky. Welthy was born in 1811, in Wayne County, Kentucky, and died sometime between 1850 and 1860, in Macon County, Missouri. Nathan and Welthy had four children:

1) Bright Corder Barrow, (male) born about 1830 in Missouri
2) Mary Ann Barrow, born about 1832 in Missouri
3) George West Barrow, born about 1835
4) Dwight Barrow, born about 1838

Judge Nathan Barrow died on April 26, 1863, in Gratiot State Prison, St. Louis, Missouri.

Ruth Dunlap in a Macon County Query of April 1998:
"Researching my line from GGGrandfather Daniel S. Barrow, born 1799 in Kentucky. Both Daniel and his brother, Nathan Barrow, married Gilstrap sisters. Daniel married Mary (Polly) Gilstrap, and Nathan married Welthy Gilstrap. The father of the Barrow brothers was Daniel Barrow, born 1758. The father of the sisters was Bright Gilstrap, born about 1776 and Selah Mumford, born about 1777."
Ruth reported that Nathan was a Judge in Macon, Missouri before 1865. He was a Southerner at heart and helped a young man join the Confederate Army. He was arrested by Federals, tried for treason, convicted and sent to Alton Prison.
