Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church for Ernest Decker, 72, who died Sunday at his home.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Wenner Funeral Home. Catholic Aid will pray at 7 followed by parish prayers at 8 at the funeral home.Ernest Decker was born in Pearl Lake to Matt and Theresa (Rausch) Decker. He married Ester Pelzer on June 21, 1949, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pearl Lake. The couple farmed northwest of Pearl Lake for 34 years. He moved to Cold Spring where he worked for Cold Spring Wood Products Inc. He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Catholic Aid and the St. Cloud Eagles Club.Survivors include his wife; daughter and son, Kathleen Hardie and Frank of Cold Spring; sisters and brothers, Delores Schreifels and Sylvester of Waite Park, Barbara Schmitz of Iowa, Theresa Thomes of Paynesville, Rita Schlangen of St. Cloud, Rosella Thies, Genevieve Schmitz, and Richard of Cold Spring, Tony of Arizona, Eddie of Royalton and Jerome of Rockville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and Willie; and an infant sister Mary.In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the food shelf.
