OBITUARY
Mrs. Anna Pearson, 76, a resident of Rock Island county 66 years and widow of Swain Pearson, neck yoke manufacturer, died at 11:30 o'clock Saturday night in her home, 1702 Twenty-first street, Rock Island, after an extended illness.
She was born in Rock Island county, June 23, 1866, a daughter of David and Bridget Walsh, early settlers. Her marriage to Mr. Pearson took place in Rock Island 58 years ago.
Until 1894, Mr. and Mrs. Pearson made their home in Salina, Kan, where Mr. Pearson was established in the carriage and harness business and at Oklahoma City Carriage works. Returning to Rock Island he established the National Neck Yoke company in which he was successfully engaged for more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Pearson died in Hot Springs, Ark., Jan. 28, 1925. A son preceded Mrs. Pearson in death April 5, 1941.
Mrs. Pearson was a member of First Methodist church, Rock Island, and formerly was active in various church organizations and the Eastern Star. In past years she also was active in Woman's club work and formerly served on the board of the Bethany home.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Forrest A. Hainline, Rock Island, and Mrs. Carl J. Frederiksen, Moline; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary McQuaid, Milan and Mrs. Margaret Prentice, Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Wheelan funeral home. The Rev. Ernest J. Campbell, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Chippiannock cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
