Annie was born to William and Elizabeth McBride in Cuba, Missouri. After the death of her mother, Annie and her brother William Jr were taken to West Plains by their father. They lived at the livery stable for awhile, with William Jr trying to earn money at the age of 13 to support them. He left Annie with a family for awhile so he could earn money with a traveling medicine man selling pots and pans, and other essentials. When he returned to West Plains, his sister Annie had died of Whooping Cough. Annie McBride is buried somewhere in the West Plains area, unknown at this time.
