Silas Haralson, a cotton farmer, was born in 1806 in Knox County TN. He married Sarah Williams September 28, 1829 in Shelby County TN. After their imigration to Texas, Silas and Sarah Haralson lived in Matagorda, TX, Harrison County, TX, Hardin County, Texas, and later in Cass County, Texas. Silas was the son of Major Haralson (Major was his name, not his rank) and Elizabeth Black from North Carolina. Major Haralson died in 1843 in Harrison county, The Republic Of Texas. His grave has not been located but could be somewhere in the Marshall Texas area. Elizabeth Black Haralson died before the family's imigration to Texas.
