Harvey Steeprow, arrived in Oregon by wagon train in 1845 and homesteaded in Benton County. Harvey took out land patent #1178 for 321.27 acres. He married c. 1853 Sarah Elizabeth Kays in Benton County, OR. Harvey and Sarah had a total of 10 children; John, Olive Almeda, Amanda, Melvina V., Ella, Robert E. Lee, Sarah Francis, Louisa Alice, Lucy Jane and William Harvey.
