Two of the vicitims were the children of Mrs. Leveret Caudill, ages nine and eleven. The father of the children drowned in a sand pit last summer. The other two victims, also nine and eleven are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Tiel. Another member of the party, a boy of fourteen had not entered the water. He was taking off his clothes to help the other youngsters when others discovered the tragedy.
Detailed information has not been received by the Messenger. It is known that the youngsters were on a picnic and the water in the dam is 15 foot deep.
