Notes from a biography that Nelson Dinger submitted to the Jefferson County Genealogical Society in 1982:
Harry Labana Dinger was my father. He was born 11 February 1894 in Dora, Jefferson County, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army with the 80th Infantry Division in World War I. He was wounded in the Argonne Forests while on patrol as a sniper. He married my mother, Bessie Stahlman, on 10 June 1918. They had 8 children; Olive Louella, Clayton Marne, Elmira Isabelle, Nellie May, Herman Simon, Alverta Arlene, Nelson Elias, and Emmett Harold. My father's nickname was Pete. He worked at the coal cleaning plant near Dora, Pa. most all his life. His hobby was woodworking and filing saws.
My father passed away 30 May 1970 and my mother passed away February 1974. They are both buried at the Ebenezer cemetery near Grange in Jefferson County.
